Changes within the Union are ongoing with the latest being a major change in the way employees, management, and the Union will interact. David Zanoni has been appointed the Chief Steward of NFFE Local 858.  There will be a short transition time with the responsibilities shifting from the outgoing Chief Steward Kathy Tiefel to David.  The Chief Steward is a key figure in ensuring the rights of the employees are maintained.  RMA-KC should immediately benefit from having a Chief Steward as a full-time RMA employee since communication is essential to the role. We welcome David to this new role and encourage all employees to speak with him as you get the chance.

Kathy will still be very active with the Union and has been nominated (along with others pending a vote) to the NFFE Local 858 Board of Trustees. Moreover, we all hope she continues to blog with us as so many have expressed there enjoyment of her posts.

This is really exciting to have David Zanoni (a full-time employee) to be the new Chief Steward. He brings myriad of experiences to the position and I personally think his year spent with the LSE will be very beneficial.
